Every Monday morning, for over a year now, I start my week off by photographing the new available cats for adoption at the Animal Refuge League. Some weeks there are 10 new cats...some weeks there are 30 new cats...either way...these are new cats to the center. Some are young and some are old. Some are hissy and some are sweet. Some want to play and some want to sleep....(some are black...some are white...)
A couple of weeks ago the ARL gave away cats. That's right, they waved the adoption fee...and gave them away for adoption. Want to take a guess at how many cats went home?
You'll never guess it...unless you drive by there everyday...because the sign in the parking lot had a great big thank you...and the number 161 on it. Yup...crazy huh? One hundred and sixty-one cats found their forever home in just one week! That is a huge number...but...believe it or not...there are still some very special cats waiting for someone to take them home...and many of them are very sweet. Here are some of the faces I photographed yesterday...but be careful...you may just fall in love!

Something to smile about
I LOVE to take photos...and honestly...I've taken a bit too many in the past two weeks...so...please forgive me if you are anxiously waiting...I promise you will like them!
I LOVE what I do...and fortunately...it often makes me smile...when I'm living it...and when I'm editing...and re-living it.
So here is just a little something I relived tonight...it made me smile.
(I do not believe these two had met before this moment)

Girls District 6 10/11 Year Old Softball Playoffs
Here is another slideshow...my last (I believe) Softball slideshow for the season.
I couldn't help myself though, here are a few pictures from the boys 10/11 year old last game of the district playoffs between Falmouth and Scarborough. These parents really get into the spirit!

Adam & Stacey Engagement Session at Portland Headlight
Hi Y'all
(my husband's frying Okra...so I'm feeling the southern accent coming on...) and it's smelling pretty good too...so I'm going to make this a quick post.
Which is ironic, because this engagement photo shoot was also pretty quick. I get the feeling Adam wasn't really into me...well you know...the photographer me...which is ok...cause he's in good company...he's not the first groom who wanted to run away from me...(again, the photographer me...not me, me!)
So, thank you Adam for allowing me to photograph you and your beautiful bride-to-be. I'm looking forward to doing it again soon!

11/12 Year Old Girls State Softball Tournament
About a year ago my kids rented the movie Yes Man with Jim Carrey.
Although extreme in typical Jim Carrey fashion, the message of the movie totally hit home with me.
When opportunity knocks, even if it's outside your comfort zone, say YES!
Again, the movie takes examples to the extremes, (particularly a bedroom scene which involves Carrey and a toothless old lady, and a bed)...that's a visual hard to shake...but beyond that...I must say pretty good food for thought.
So, I decided right after viewing that movie, that I would try and practice a bit of the YES Man philosophy.
Did I accept a few jobs out of my comfort zone? YES!
Did I do my best? YES!
Was my best good enough? YES! (not to all people...but to most...YES!)
So, what on earth am I getting at with this post?
When I was asked by a few folks at the Little League field if I was interested in photographing one or more of the tournaments being hosted by Westbrook...I said YES!
Am I doing the best I can...YES!
Did I bite off more than I could chew? YES!
Will I eventually have all four tournaments edited and posted in a timely fashion? YES!
Two out of four are complete, and I hope to finish up the other two in the next few days.
Enjoy the photos!
Will I do it again? ???!

All In A Days Work
As some of you know, I have been working diligently on my summer tan at the ball fields of Westbrook these past few weeks...but today, I took a break from the green grass and the yellow softballs...and made a quick visit to a friends house (Snowy Paws Golden Retrievers), to snap a few puppy/baby photos...talk about convenient! I must admit, I have such a large volume of tournament photos to edit, It took great control on my part to limit my visit to just under an hour...and under a hundred photos. The rest of the day has been editing my weekly cat photos from the Animal Refuge League and tournament photos. I will be working late again tonight, but wanted to share a bit of today!

Yes, this is a post which includes a Boys, 10/11 year old baseball slideshow...but it wouldn't be my post without the four legged fans.
