I like to photograph Everything.
Let me make that clear.
Everything!
But, this blog post is all about the CATS!
This month marks 5 YEARS I have been photographing the cats at the Animal Refuge League.
I have photographed 1000 cats per year.
This month marks 5000 cats.
That's a pretty impressive number don't you think?
So, I wanted to throw myself a party!
But, what kind of party does one throw for oneself to celebrate the photographing of my five thousandth cat?
One thing is for sure, it must include cake!
Soooooooooo, help me out! Let's celebrate. Any cool ideas out there? I'm listening!
Until then, I invite you to share a photo of your cat over on my facebook page.
It's a business page, so you don't need to be "on" facebook to visit!
I'm going to start a post and I want you to share your cat photos in the comments!
Here are a few photos of current cats available for adoption at the ARL. Check them out! Then come visit me on my Minor Moments Photography Facebook page!

Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland Press Release. A Maine Photographer.
The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland announce via press conference yesterday their plans to build a new animal shelter, and I was blessed to be there for the exciting news. This has been in the works for quite some time, and what started out as a bit of a dream is now very much a reality. A very exciting time indeed.
Several years ago I was asked to photograph parts of the current building...the parts that needed much repair...for documentation purposes...not that anyone was arguing that many repairs were needed...so even though I am not employed by the shelter, this project has been close to my heart for some time. In addition, the sheer number of volunteer hours that "run" the shelter is mind boggling. There are more than 200 volunteers who help take care of 4000 abandoned, stray or surrendered animals per year.
Here is a link the ARL has specifically set up for this journey called The Future Fund.
I will continue to share info as it becomes available. The shelter is being built on the same property that it currently resides on and will continue to be open during the entire process.
I've included photos from the press conference, photos from an event that occurred in late January where the reality of a new shelter was shared with many of the investors, and the last set of photos are the cats I photographed on Monday, many of which are still available for adoption! If you haven't already...it is time to Fall In LOVE!!!
