Chloe's First Mother's Day. The Purple Litter goes Home. A Maine Photographer

Last Saturday, May 3rd, Chloe's puppies went to their forever homes, and I am grateful to the families for letting me be a part of this day.  Three puppies all together, three homes.  If you have been following my blog, you already know that my family decided to keep the third puppy, the newest guardian pup for SnowyPaw's!  Her name is Violet, and she's the latest love of our life.  Yes, Joanne is having a very special Mother's Day too this year!  Happy Mother's Day Chloe!

We have known the families that both Beckett and Jaxson were going to, for a bit now, and I'm grateful to both Rushell at SnowyPaw's and to the individual families who shared their individual stories with me.  This is just another reminder that we all have stuff going on in our lives...we all do...sometimes we are just so unaware.  There is a saying out there, I've been seeing it pop up on facebook quite a bit, it goes something like this...treat everyone with kindness for you have no idea what they may be going through.  Again, I am both grateful and full of admiration to these families.  I am also just a wee bit overjoyed that Chloe's puppies are bringing "Joy to the World" as corny as that may sound.  Here are some photos I took prior to the first pick up at 10 am.

These first two are Chloe and Violet.

This next one is Chloe and Jaxson

And here is Chloe and Beckett.  My husband helped me with these photos.  We wanted to be sure to provide each family with a photo of their new baby and baby's Mommy :)

This next photo is one of Chloe's pups bidding farewell to Edy's litter.  They have shared most of their lives together at this point.  I thought it was a bittersweet goodbye...and worth capturing :)

Next, we have Beckett and Jaxson very much ready to meet their new families!!

And I can't forget my beautiful Mama Chloe, very happy for the visit
and next is me trying to capture her funny smile.  She looks viscous, but she is so very happy!

This is Violet, taken the moment we brought her home.

Beckett goes home!
10:00 sharp I met the Stack family.  I had been corresponding with Shari for a couple of weeks.  Shari shared that her 4 year old son Liam had picked out the name Beckett.  Shari shared that she has never had a dog before, so Beckett is her first, and she shared that she is not able to have any more children due to medication that she is on after suffering from two strokes after the birth of Liam.
I am so grateful to Shari and her family for sharing their story, and so happy to welcome them into Chloe's family!

Jaxson goes home!
1:00 I met the Myrick Family.  Mom Penny and daughter Brittany came to pick up Jaxson.  I had been corresponding with Penny and she too agreed to share her very personal story.  Penny has previously shared her life with 3 other golden retrievers, the last one past away at the age of 11 last June, and Penny and family truly believe their house is just not home without a golden, so they are welcoming Jaxson with open arms.  Penny is currently on medical leave fighting a very personal battle with breast cancer.  She is currently going through chemo and very much looking forward to some puppy cuddles.  Once Jaxson is a bit more mature Penny plans to get him certified as an official therapy dog!

I am so grateful to the Stack family and the Myrick family for letting me share their very personal stories and photos with you.  I am so grateful for Rushell at Snowypaw's for picking my family to raise Chloe.  My heart is just so full!
Happy Mother's Day Chloe
Happy Mother's Day Rushell
Happy Mother's Day Shari
Happy Mother's Day Penny
and yes...it is a very Happy Mother's Day for Joanne

Chloe's Golden Retriever Puppies at Seven Weeks Old. A Maine Photographer

We are in the final stretch before Chloe's babies move to their new forever homes!  This is a very busy week, and I have a bit of an announcement to make myself...this is another case of if it was meant to be...it will be.  Gosh, we said that when we bought our house, and some of you might remember that took 10 months, three "under contracts" two mortgage brokers, and yes, in the end we even got a peach tree...but back to the present.  In a previous post I mentioned that we really hoped to raise one of Chloe's puppies at some point in the future.  FUTURE.  That was the plan.

We miss our Chloebutt sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much.

We anticipate breeding her again by the end of the year...and we just know we will miss her sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much again.

So, we have decided that the FUTURE is now, and SnowyPaws' newest guardian pup Violet will be coming home to live with us.  WE ARE SO EXCITED!!

We're getting a puppy....we're getting a puppy!!!

Hello everyone, I would like you to meet Violet :)

Chloe's pups are currently seven and a half weeks old and they get to go home on Saturday when they turn 8 weeks old.  The following set of photos are from their six weeks old birthday.  My boys finally got to visit them...and they brought a couple friends with them too.  Keep in mind, these giant puppies are 6 weeks old in these photos!

Now the remaining photos below are from last week.  Chloe's pups are almost 7 weeks in the photo, and Edy's are 5 weeks old.  I've done my best to name them, if I'm pretty sure who they are...but you know...those white golden retriever puppies...well...they all look alike!  They are all gorgeous!
I really hope my next blog post is introducing you to the pups new families, so please come back here and visit again real soon!!

   Jaxson...but it could be Beckett...

The Purple Litter. Chloe's Pups. A Maine Photographer Focusing on Tails

Sometimes when I begin a blog post I sort of feel like I'm entering a confessional.  Father forgive me for I have sinned...and it's been blah blah since my last confession.

I don't post as often as I would like, and for those of you waiting on me to view your precious puppies, well...have mercy on me.

If you know me...you know I LOVE the color purple.  I have loved this color for as long as I can remember...certainly before it was cool.  Purple makes me happy, so I have a lot of it!  You know what else?  Rushell of Snowypaw Golden Retrievers loves purple too!  So, when Rushell suggested we call Chloe's first ever litter the Purple Litter, who was I to argue?

Without over complicating the facts, Rushell needs a litter name to register the puppies.  First there is a litter name, and then all the pups get a related name for registration purposes only...most folks change the names once the pups become members of their families.  For example, Chloe was from the "Charm" litter and her registration name was Third Times a Charm, but once she became a member of my family, we named her Chloe, Chloebutt, Butt Butt, etc etc...her name is Chloe to us.

If you are a regular reader you already know that Chloe was named after my sister...and you may remember that my sister collected Kaleidoscopes.  I had asked Rushell if she would consider naming Chloe's litter the Kaleidoscope litter, and then name all the pups with color names, and she loved the idea...but we both agreed that since Chloe's litter had only three pups the Kaleidoscope name would need to wait...and that's how Chloe's litter became the Purple Litter.  Our one boy is Royal (Purple) and his new family name is Jaxson.  Our two girls are Amethyst and Violet.  Amethyst has a new family with a four year old boy all her own to play with...who has already named her Beckett, and Violet is the newest guardian of the Snowypaw family and her guardian family has decided to keep that name and will call her Violet.

I planned to save the Kaleidoscope Litter name for the future.
Then, the future happened.
Chloe became the caregiver to Edy's litter.

Edy's Kaleidoscope.

We haven't named them yet, but we have 4 girls and 3 boys.  I have a list, but if you have a great color name you wish to suggest, please leave your comments below...I would love to hear them! Edi's pups are 4 weeks old in this photo.

The remaining photos were taken over the past three weeks, ending with the most recent.
